1- What are your rates?

How much a translation costs depends on a number of factors like the language you need, when you need the translation, how long the document is, the complexity of the design, the file format, and how repetitious the document is. Languages that are harder to translate (or harder to find quality translators for) cost more. We count a page as 250 words. Usually we prefer to see the document to be translated before we can decide its price. This however excludes certain forms or certificates, for which charge per page. 

2- How fast can you get my translation done?

That depends on several factors like source/target languages, type of material, design of the file, and other factors. We need to see the material before we can give a quotation.

3- Can you offer me a discount?

SATO focuses on quality, not on the lowest price. We are certainly flexible when possible and offer the best price possible while maintaining high quality.

4- What formats can you work in?

Formats change frequently. Please tell us what format you need us to work in and chances are we're already working in that format. And we're highly flexible. We can use most formats that clients need us to work in, including XML and XLF files. Other common formats SATO work in include MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF HTML, InDesign, and Illustrator. But the list doesn't end there. Just ask us.

5- Are your translators native speakers of the language they are translating into?

Yes. However, we may select a linguist who is native in the source language. For example, a native Italian speaker may be better at capturing and translating informal Italian into English than a native English-speaking translator. Translator's familiarity with both cultures is also very important for certain projects. We will always pick the best and most appropriate translator for the job. But knowledge of the source language is just as important as knowledge of the target language along with the knowledge of both cultures, so the translators we use have to be fluent and familiar with both.

6- How do you guarantee accuracy and high quality?

SATO has been in business since 1991 and has built up a database of over 3,000 linguists. Our translation department is constantly evaluating the translators on their work and also consistently recruits new linguists. We are in the process of getting ISO 9001 certified which is a certification based on quality processes. We have firm processes to protect the translation work we produce. Typically, a translation undergoes translation, editing, proofreading, and an internal review by a project manager. There are many eyes on each translation ensuring that no mistakes were made.

7- Do you offer notarized translation?

Yes, we offer notarized translation through the Notary Public. However, this service is excluded from the price of translation.
